SEPA (Single Euro Payments Area) is a payment method used across Europe for transferring funds between bank accounts in euros (EUR). While SEPA is widely used for bank-to-bank payments, there are a few important things to know when using it with Super.
Does Super Support SEPA Payments?
Currently, Super primarily supports payments charged in USD. While SEPA payment methods may appear available through certain payment providers, they are not the recommended option for Super subscriptions and transactions.
Why SEPA Payments Are Not Recommended
SEPA payments are not processed in real time. Unlike card payments, which are typically approved instantly, SEPA bank transfers can take additional time to complete and confirm.
This delay can sometimes cause issues such as:
Delayed subscription activation
Failed or pending payment confirmations
Incomplete checkout experiences
Syncing delays between payment status and account access
Since Super’s system is designed around real-time payment confirmation, delayed bank approvals may lead to unexpected behavior during checkout or subscription processing.
Recommended Payment Methods
For the best experience, we recommend using:
Credit or debit cards (Visa or Mastercard)
Instant payment methods supported by your payment provider
Other real-time payment options available during checkout
These methods help ensure that payments are confirmed immediately and subscriptions are activated without delay.
Common Questions
Can I still try using SEPA?
Yes, depending on your payment provider configuration, SEPA may still appear as an available option. However, Super cannot guarantee a smooth experience due to the delayed processing nature of SEPA transfers.
Are payments charged in EUR?
At the moment, Super charges subscriptions in USD. We don't support EUR current yet, so if your SEPA is set to the said currency, the payment might not be able to push through.
Why is my SEPA payment still pending?
SEPA transfers often require additional banking approval time before the payment is fully confirmed. This is expected behavior for bank transfer–based payment methods.
