A 404 redirect allows you to temporarily block public access to a page while keeping it editable and accessible to you as the admin. This is useful if the page isn’t ready to be published yet. Visitors will see a “Page Not Found” message instead of unfinished content, which helps avoid confusion or broken pages. When the page is ready, you can remove the redirect and make it accessible.

Steps to Set Up a 404 Redirect

  1. Ensure You Have a Pro Plan
The ability to set up redirects requires a Pro Plan. Make sure your account is upgraded before proceeding.

  2. Finalize Your Content
Save any drafts, settings, or elements for the page, as it will temporarily be inaccessible to visitors.

  3. Identify the Page
Choose the specific page you want to restrict access to.

  4. Set Up the 404 Redirect

    • Go to your website’s redirect or routing settings.

    • Create a redirect rule that points the page URL to a 404 error page.

    • This prevents users from navigating to the page while still keeping it editable for you.

  5. Test the Redirect
Open the page URL in a browser to confirm it correctly shows a 404 error.

  6. Remove the Redirect When Ready
Once the page is fully ready for public viewing, remove the redirect so visitors can access it normally.
