Template VS Theme: What is the difference?

Templates create new sites from pre-made designs, while themes style sites you already have.

You may be confused about the difference between these two options, but they serve different purposes.

Understanding Templates

Templates are pre-designed by our website designers and are intended to help you get started quickly. To use a template, you’ll need to duplicate it, templates cannot be applied directly to an existing site.

An active subscription is required because templates rely on a stylesheet that is added to the site’s Head section, which is only available on paid plans.

Important Limitations

Templates cannot be applied retroactively. If you already have a site and want to switch to a template, there is currently no way to automatically replace your existing site or transfer content from existing site.

To use a template, you’ll need to manually copy and paste your content from your previous site into the duplicated template, then create a new site based on it.

Understanding Themes

Themes can be found in the Super Design section. Super offers built-in themes that you can apply instantly, and you also have the option to create your own custom theme.

Unlike templates, themes can be applied to existing sites and reused across multiple sites. This means you can change the look and feel of all your sites without duplicating content or creating a new site.

IMPORTANT: Some paid templates may not support applying themes directly. In these cases, any design changes must be implemented manually using CSS code.
