SEO Title or Description Not Updating on Super

Super automatically generates SEO titles and descriptions based on your Notion pages. Typically, the page title is pulled from the Notion page title, and the description comes from the first Text, Quote, or H3 block on the page. If you notice that updates aren’t showing in search results immediately, this is usually due to caching or how metadata is sourced.

Common Causes

  1. Browser or Server Caching
    Sometimes your browser or Super’s server caches the old metadata, which can prevent immediate updates from appearing.

  2. Metadata Source
    Super pulls descriptions from the first content block (Text, Quote, or H3). If this block isn’t updated or optimized for SEO, changes may not reflect properly.

  3. Page Not Republished
    Any changes to your Notion page won’t take effect until the page is republished on Super.

  4. Search Engines Haven’t Re-crawled the Page
    Google and other search engines may take time to re-index updated metadata, which can delay visible changes in search results.

How to Fix It

  1. Republish Your Site
    After making metadata changes, republish your site in Super to ensure the updates are applied.

  2. Optimize the First Content Block
    Ensure that the first Text, Quote, or H3 block contains a clear, SEO-friendly description. Include relevant keywords that reflect the page content.

  3. Clear Cache or Wait for Cache Refresh
    Clear your browser cache and allow a few minutes for Super’s server cache to refresh.

  4. Request a Re-crawl in Google Search Console
    If you want Google to recognize changes faster, use the “URL Inspection” tool in Google Search Console and request a re-crawl of the updated page.

Important Note

Even after following these steps, Google may choose to display different metadata if it considers another version more relevant to users. This is normal and part of Google’s ranking algorithm
